It was a trying start to the 2019-20 season for the Air Force men's hockey team.

The Falcons opened the season with seven-straight losses but have rebounded nicely, going 5-3-1 in their last nine games. Starting to put the pieces together, the Academy has collected points in eight of those contests.

"We have good teams and bad luck," head coach Frank Serratore said. "We stayed with it, we turned it around. I like the resiliency of the group, they stayed with it, they didn't get beat down. They stayed with it."

With three weeks off to get healthy and tweak some elements of their game, Air Force returns to action this weekend when they host Atlantic Conference front-runner American International College at Cadet Ice Arena.

"Going in right now to the second half, we should be feeling good about ourselves," Serratore said. "We know we're a tough team to play against and we should be a tough team to play against. We just need to continue to make strides."

Puck drop is set for 7:05 p.m. Friday night at 5:05 p.m. on Saturday.
