Today’s Forecast:

It’s looking like we’ll see some cloud cover in the skies today, especially along the I-25 corridor. That will hold temperatures back a bit, but we’ll still be milder than yesterday and closer to average with highs in the 50’s. Skies stay dry today with occasional gusts over 20 mph.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 53; Low – 23. Milder today, but clouds will be in the mix.

PUEBLO: High – 59; Low – 25. Areas of clouds with slightly milder temperatures.

CANON CITY: High – 67; Low – 33. A few areas of clouds with temperatures closer to average.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 67; Low – 33. Some cloud cover today with slightly warmer temperatures.

TRI-LAKES: High – 40’s; Low – 20. Areas of clouds today, but temperatures will be closer to normal.

PLAINS: High – 60; Low – 20’s. Closer to average today with passing clouds.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 60’s; Low – 20’s. A few areas of clouds with milder temperatures.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK OR NEXT WEATHER MAKER: Winds increase overnight with the passage of our next cold front. That front will drop temperatures tonight and throughout the day on Sunday. Highs will likely occur at midnight and fall into the 20’s for most of the day. Winds will be breezy from the north and we’ll also have snow returning to the area during the early morning hours and sticking around for much of the day.  The Wets and Sangres will be the winners with snowfall, accumulating several inches. Most lower elevations will have about 1-3″ with higher totals possible as elevation increases. Bitterly cold air will be around through Tuesday morning with lows in the teens and highs only in the 20’s. We’ll see some improvements for the rest of the week with dry and mainly sunny skies. Temperatures transition on Tuesday heading towards 50’s and low 60’s for the rest of the week.
