Forecast: All quiet on the Western Front, with Friday being a slam-dunk for “Nicest day in the 7-day forecast.”

It’s clear skies today, and while ski country to the west will pick up several inches of snow later today and tonight, the Plains will be bright today with warmer temperatures than yesterday.

A cold front passes through in the wee hours of Saturday morning, and may drop a sprinkle to the Plains before or just after dawn, but it mainly keeps skies a little congested and turns down temperatures a bit for the weekend.

But enjoy highs today in the 50s and 60s…

COLORADO SPRINGS: Low – 40, High – 54. Partly cloudy evening, sprinkle overnight. Saturday, blustery, with changeable skies..sunny to cloudy, back and forth.

PUEBLO: Low – 40, High – 60. Clear evening, clouds/sprinkle late. Saturday, blustery, with changeable skies..mixed clouds and some sun.

CANON CITY: Low – 41, High – 56. Partly cloudy evening, sprinkle late-night. Saturday, blustery, with mixed clouds and sun.

WOODLAND PARK: Low – 28, High – 44. Partly cloudy evening, sprinkle overnight. Saturday, blustery, with changeable skies.

TRI-LAKES: Low – 32, High – 48. Partly cloudy evening, sprinkle overnight. Saturday, blustery, with changeable skies..sunny to cloudy, back and forth.

PLAINS: Low – 42, High – 60. Partly cloudy evening, sprinkle overnight. Saturday, blustery, with partly sunny skies.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: Low – 40, High – 54. Clear this evening, partly cloudy late. Saturday, blustery, with partly sunny skies..

EXTENDED OUTLOOK:

Watching the potential for some snow/mix Wednesday evening and night, ending Thursday morning. Long way off, small details can have big effects, but that’s the next worthwhile storm to watch.
