Today’s Forecast:
Colorado Springs saw its first snow of the season last night! While another brief snow shower or two could move through the Pikes Peak area this morning, its more likely we’ll wait until the afternoon to see some more moisture. Temperatures will stay locked in the 30s for the Pikes Peak area under heavy cloud cover but as you move up in elevation and down south towards the border, temps will actually get warmer! Tonight we’ll be dry with another freeze by the morning.

COLORADO SPRINGS: High – 38; Low – 29. Cloudy and cold again with an isolated mid morning snow shower. Light snow showers, possibly mixed with rain, are much more likely in the afternoon through the Pikes Peak region with dry skies tonight. Temps will drop below freezing tonight.

PUEBLO: High – 45; Low – 32. Cloudy and cold today and while we could see a few weak showers this afternoon, chances are much better that Pueblo will stay dry through the end of the day and night.

CANON CITY: High – 46; Low – 32. Cloudy and cold with scattered light showers mixed with snow possible through the afternoon. We’ll be cloudy and cold tonight with lows around freezing.

WOODLAND PARK: High – 41; Low – 25. Cloudy and chilly today with scattered light snow showers possible again through the afternoon. We’ll be dry and below freezing tonight.

TRI-LAKES: High – 30s; Low – 20s. Cloudy and cold today with an isolated quick snow shower possible in the morning but much more likely through the afternoon. Accumulation would be minimal.

PLAINS: High – 40s; Low – 30s. Cloudy and pretty chilly today with the warmest air down south by the border. We should stay dry across the plains through the afternoon and evening. Lows will drop near freezing tonight.

WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 50s; Low – 30s. Isolated snow showers west into the Sangres but most of the I-25 south stretch should stay cloudy and chilly. We cant rule out a quick shower or sprinkle in the afternoon but again, the chances of staying dry are better. Lows will be down near freezing tonight.

EXTENDED OUTLOOK:
Thursday is looking a lot better across most of southern Colorado. There will still be plenty of cloud cover but sunshine should start cracking into the plains and Pueblo through the afternoon. An afternoon rain is possible in the Pikes Peak region with some snow mixed in over the higher locations, but not too much or rain or snow is expected. Friday looks sunny and warmer with that trend following us into Saturday. Sunday is going to be an interesting day with a VERY strong cold front bringing cold air and SNOW back into the forecast Sunday morning through the afternoon.
