Today’s Forecast:
HOT and dry today with a lot wind through the afternoon and overnight hours. Winds will be out of the west today, running down the mountains to create down slope flow. These down slope winds will help to heat the air very efficiently, meaning we’ll see high temperatures well above average today. Winds will gust today up to 30 or more mph through the afternoon with a few 40 mph gusts likely down some of the mountains west of Colorado Springs. There will be no rain anywhere across southern Colorado. Tonight a cold front pushes south through the state keeping the winds strong and overnight temperatures mild.

WEEKEND OUTLOOK OR NEXT WEATHER MAKER:
Tonight a cold front pushes through the state, and while it won’t cool us down that much overnight, Tuesday afternoon will feel much different! Highs will fall back to the 70s and 80s by Tuesday with only a small chance for rain Tuesday evening in El Paso county. Wednesday will stay below average with highs jumping back to the 90s by the end of the week.
