A marginal risk has been issued from the SPC across eastern Colorado and IF storms can form (it’s a big if) large hail would be the issue. The majority of southern Colorado will enjoy a warm and beautiful day with a nice, cooling breeze this afternoon. Fire danger isn’t a priority today but we will be warm and dry from Pueblo into the eastern plains. Highs today will run from the upper 70s and lower 80s around the Pikes Peak region to the upper 80s across the plains. Tonight most of us stay dry, with the only far eastern Colorado to the Kansas border seeing a chance for strong and isolated thunderstorms.

PLAINS: High – 80s; Low – 50s. Hot and dry most of today but late this afternoon and mainly this evening a few isolated thunderstorms are possible across the eastern border. If storms can develop early this evening large hail would be the main risk.
WALSENBURG/TRINIDAD: High – 80s; Low – 40s/50s. Warm and dry today with a nice afternoon breeze. Dry and cool tonight.
WEEKEND OUTLOOK OR NEXT WEATHER MAKER:
Thursday we will likely see the return of Red Flag Warnings from continued warm and dry conditions with stronger afternoon winds. Storms are possible in eastern Colorado Thursday evening but most of our area along and close to the I-25 corridor should remain dry. Friday a strong cold front will knock temperatures back into the 70s and 80s but also bring strong rain and thunderstorms into the Pikes Peak area. It’s a bit early but a few stronger storms will be possible Friday afternoon through the evening. Rain chances and cool temperatures come back through the weekend and next week by Wednesday we should see drier conditions.
