Pine Creek senior running back David Moore III has had a run for the Colorado high school record books, currently sitting fifth all-time in career rushing yards (7,246 yards), while also moving into the top 15 in touchdowns (90) and 100-yard games (39).
"I'm looking to break one every time, if I see a little crease I'm looking to break one," Moore said.
The Pine Creek football team has been jamming out to "Run DM3" for the past four seasons and the results speak for themselves.
"I just surround myself with winners at this program and its changed me a lot," Moore said. "Helped me become a better person and a better man."
The Eagles are a Class 4A semifinal win against Pueblo West away from playing for their first state title since 2016 and the 5'8 "highlight machine" has been front and center of the ride.
"At the end I'll probably look at it like one big thing and I'll really miss it." Moore said.
Saving his best season for last, the senior has more than 2,200 yards and 32 touchdowns during the 2019 campaign.
"Just like Tom Brady, he just finds a way to win and that's the legacy I want to leave, just a winner and a good person; humble person," Moore said.
When he's not showing off his track speed on the football field, the musically-talented Moore is laying them down.
"I love music, I like making beats on my own and stuff like that," Moore said.
Proving people wrong has always been the fuel that drives this talented tailback. First a chance to bookend his career with state titles and then hopefully a chance to shine at the collegiate level.
"This year it just seems like we're more focused, it's state or bust," Moore said. "I'm just waiting on a school to give me a chance to prove what I got."
