COLORADO SPRINGS — For the past four years, The Classical Academy's Mason Norman has been running into the 3A Boys state record books.
"Just been doing cross country season, and then take a short break and start training for track season and just keep cycling around," Norman said.
With three cross country titles for the Titans the past three seasons, the senior was hoping to add a few additional honors this spring.
However, with the season never hitting the ground due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Wyoming commit has turned his attention to the next level.
"I think it's easy to get yourself burnt out unless you take those breaks," Norman said. "After that time off I'm much more excited for the college season."
A master of the 5K event, Norman will be going the distance for the Cowboys in the 8K and 10K, a welcome challenge for TCA's top track star.
"I want to go into college and just constantly be improving every year," Norman said.
With his brother Tanner competing at Colorado State, it will be a family affair in the Mountain West Conference next year.
"Those aren't too far apart so I'll have that," Norman said.
A welcome opportunity to show the best Southern Colorado has to offer.
"I don't know what's next but I'm just excited for the new environment," Norman said.
