Air Force senior Billy Christopoulos was named the Travel Team USA Atlantic Hockey Conference Goalie of the Week after leading the Falcons to a split with Canisius, Feb. 15-16.
The goalie of the week honor is his fourth of the season, more than any other AHC goalie this season. The award is the sixth of his career. The conference weekly honor is the fifth earned by Air Force this season.
The senior from Raleigh, N.C., allowed just two goals in two games against the Golden Griffins. His 1.02 GAA was the best among league goalies who played two games. He stopped 39 of 41 shots in the series for a .951 saves percentage, the second best among league goalies who played two games. Christopoulos made 22 saves in the first game, earning his third shutout of the season and eighth of his career.
Air Force (14-12-4 overall, 12-9-3 AHC) travels to Erie, Pa., for a two-game conference series with Mercyhurst, Friday-Saturday, Feb. 22-23.
