COLORADO SPRINGS – The Colorado Springs Police Department announced that Devin Davell Scott has been sentenced to eight years in the Department of Corrections for his role in a string of burglaries and possessing sexually exploiting images of underage children.

CSPD said they first began investigating a string of pry bar burglaries in mid-2018. Detectives determined that a group of suspects was targeting local businesses and causing major property damage to gain entry into the businesses.

In the early morning hours of August 2nd, 2018, CSPD said detectives observed Scott breaking into a local business and he was apprehended.

According to CSPD, it is believed that Scott and his accomplices were responsible for more than 100 burglaries in the Colorado Springs area.

CSPD said that while Scott was booked in jail for burglary charges, detectives discovered sexually explicit images of underage children on an electronic device in his possession.

Scott will serve eight years for burglary charges and an additional three years, to be served concurrently, for the sexually exploited images of underage children.
