Humana and Pueblo VFW host homeless veterans fair

PUEBLO – Saturday, Human and the Pueblo VFW Post #3641 teamed up to host a homeless veterans fair.

The two organizations teamed up for the second time to benefit homeless veterans in the Pueblo area.

According to Humana, more than 50 homeless veterans attended the event Saturday.

At the event, veterans received a hot meal, free clothing and toiletries, health and wellness checks, and free haircuts. Bus tickets were also provided to assist with transportation to and from the event.

Health and wellness checks were provided by Kindred at Home and haircuts were provided by Carrie Linn.

According to the US Department of Veterans Affairs, there are more than 400,000 veterans in Colorado. According to the US Department of Housing and Urban Development’s 2018 Annual Homeless Assessment Report,  there are 1,073 homeless veterans in Colorado.
