COLORADO SPRINGS – An exciting day at the U.S. Olympic training center Friday.
The state championship winning Rampart High School girls swim team getting some inspiration from an Olympian Olivia Smoliga.
“I think it’s really good for her to remind us that even if we have setbacks and failures, it’s just another motivation to try and succeed the next time you swim,” said Edenna Chen, Rampart High School senior.
Chen was just one member of the team that was able to talk to Smoliga about what it takes to get to the next level. Smoliga, her advice is simple, take it one step at a time.
“Making sure that with everything they do they’re reflecting on whatever had happened prior to the next step, setting goals, little things like that,” she said.
The Rampart team that took part, they are not just state champions, they are back-to-back winners.
