COLORADO SPRINGS – El Paso County has reopened all lanes of S. Academy Boulevard following a lengthy closure Thursday due to a large hole in the road.

El Paso County Public Works crews patched the road and placed steel plates across the lanes.  Workers had to dig out the area across all three lanes to repair the hole, which formed near the seam where the road meets the bridge over Bradley Road.

Workers will continue work on the area Friday. Drivers should slow down in the area and watch for possible lane closures.

S. Academy Boulevard was closed for about 10 hours while crews made repairs.
