CSPD seeking information from public on Friday night auto/ped hit-and-run

COLORADO SPRINGS – Just before 9 p.m. Friday night, the Colorado Springs Police Department was notified of a hit and run traffic crash involving a pedestrian.

According to CSPD, the investigation into the incident revealed that the pedestrian was walking northbound on Swope Ave. while pushing a wheelchair. She pushed the chair across E. Platte Ave and an unknown black or dark blue, large SUV struck her as it was traveling eastbound on E. Platte Ave.

CSPD said the vehicle was not identified.

The pedestrian, identified only as a female, was crossing the street at the intersection, but there was not a designated crosswalk at the intersection, according to CSPD.

CSPD said that by the time officers arrived at the scene, the pedestrian had already been transported to a local hospital with a serious injury. No further information on her condition has been provided.
