COLORADO SPRINGS – Care and Share will hold an emergency food distribution for those still getting back on their feet after the recent government shutdown.

The group will be at Broadmoor World Arena at 2 p.m. on Friday. Food will be given out on a first come, first served basis, and continue until all of the food is gone.

It is limited to one household per vehicle, “Which would still probably be around 25 to 30 pounds of food,” said Joanna Wise from Care and Share. “So it will still be several bags of food, but if someone says two households then we wouldn’t be able to do double that.”

The parking lot at Broadmoor will not open until 1 p.m., and those who want food will not be able to enter the lot any earlier.
