COLORADO SPRINGS- As some of you were driving home Thursday night you may have noticed a crash scene and road closure near Airport and Murray in Colorado Springs.

It turns out this was also the scene of a major arrest. Investigators believe they’ve arrested the suspect tied to a burglary at a Big R store in El Paso County. The suspect broke a window to get in and stole 13 guns.

Around 6 p.m. Thursday evening, Colorado Springs Police Department investigators say they were working with federal agents and the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office to close in on the suspect when he backed his car through a fence and collided with an oncoming vehicle on Airport Road. Fortunately, there weren’t any serious injuries and the suspect was taken into custody.

The suspect is expected to be identified sometime on Friday. If you have any information to help investigators you can always remain anonymous and could be eligible for a reward by calling Crime Stoppers at 719-634-STOP.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms had offered a $5,000 reward for the suspect’s capture.
