Police: Sun glare may be a factor in pedestrian crash on city’s east side

COLORADO SPRINGS – Police said a pedestrian in a crosswalk was hit and dragged in a crash near Woodmen Rd. and Rangewood Dr. Thursday morning.

According to a police spokesman, investigators are looking into whether sun glare played a role in the crash.

The man suffered critical injuries as he was dragged at least 10 feet by the large vehicle.

Police were asking anyone in the area to keep an eye out for the man’s Shiba Inu which ran after the crash. Several hours later CSPD reported the dog was found unharmed.

The driver is cooperating with police. News5 is awaiting information on whether the driver could be charged or cited for the crash.
