COLORADO SPRINGS – The Coroner’s Office has identified 35-year-old Candace R. Jones as the woman shot and killed Friday night on the 3300 block of Knoll Lane.
A witness told News5 that a car pulled up and he heard three shots initially and then another three before the car drove away.
Police now have 28-year-old Jamie Crawford jailed on a charge of murder in the first degree. The two women who are married got into an argument before the shooting, according to police.
On the night of the killing, Colorado Springs Police Lt. Howard Black said when officers arrived, they found a Jones with a gunshot wound outside of the apartment complex. Fire officials arrived and confirmed that the woman was deceased.
Jones death is the 32nd homicide in Colorado Springs so far this year.
