COLORADO – The I-70 corridor is a tough drive once again Tuesday morning. If you have plans to head west on the interstate, it’s icy and snowpacked with the Passenger Traction Law and the Chain Law in effect.

The Colorado State Patrol and CDOT closed both directions of the highway a little after 5:30 a.m. for multiple accidents between Downieville and Empire (Highway 40).

Snow has been coming down steadily in the last 48-hours, which has been a huge boost for the ski resorts, but it’s caused less than desirable driving conditions for travelers. Plan a lot of extra time into any trip that you’re going to be making to the west.
