COLORADO SPRINGS – Police have ended a standoff at a home on Ridgewood Drive in a neighborhood near Cheyenne Mountain.

Shortly before it came to an end around 3 p.m. our News5 photographer heard two loud bangs that were likely flash-bang type diversion devices.

The incident started before 12:30 p.m. when officers were called out for a wanted suspect. When officers went to the front door the suspect refused to come out. They stuck around and worked on trying to get him to come out willingly.

That did not work as he started making threatening comments and gestures. SWAT was called in to get him in custody. He was originally wanted for robbery, but now there will be more charges tacked on for this incident.

Lt. Howard Black with the Colorado Springs Police Department is not releasing the man’s name at this time.  Neither the suspect nor officers were injured.
