Frigid temperatures and snow cause some districts to delay start times Monday morning

SOUTHERN COLORADO – Temperatures fell into the single digits and teens overnight across parts of the KOAA News 5 viewing area early Monday morning.

Snow fell around parts of southern Colorado Sunday, causing slick conditions for some roads, with some of the worst conditions in Fremont County and areas south.

Luckily, conditions are expected to improve later this afternoon, with highs forecast to reach into the 40s across much of the area.

FULL LIST OF CLOSINGS AND DELAYS:

Canon City RE-1: 2 Hours Late (Effective Mon. Oct. 15)

Custer County Schools: 1-hour delay, no preschool, buses running one hour later than normal (Effective Mon. Oct. 15)
Fremont/Florence RE-2: 2 Hours Late (Effective Mon. Oct. 15)

Fremont Co. Head Start: all classes 10am-3pm, no bus service
