PUEBLO – The Broncos game was exciting on a couple of different levels. Not only did the Broncos win, but it was also a homecoming for a Pueblo native and CSU graduate.

Kelsey Martinez happens to be the first female coach in the Oakland Raiders history. She’s working as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for the team.  She isn’t the first or only female coach working in the NFL, but she is one of just a few women working in the league.

Martinez says she was a Broncos fan at one time, but she has a different perspective now. She says when she originally started working in Orlando, she became a “players fan” because she worked with a lot of players from around the entire league. She also says that once she went to Oakland, she became a Raiders fan.

She says many of her family members are Broncos supporters and several of them contacted her before they headed to the game. Martinez said they wanted to make they didn’t have to wear Raiders gear for her sake.
