When double-lung transplant recipient Linda Regis woke up from surgery, she immediately asked for Peyton Manning.
While she didn’t see him then, @UCHealth made sure her wish came true.

DENVER – Meeting your favorite Bronco can be a memorable experience for anyone, but for Colorado Springs woman Linda Regis, her story is a little more special.
Regis was diagnosed in 2008 with chronic pulmonary obstructive disease, and she received a double lung transplant years later from the staff at UCHealth.
When Linda Regis woke up from surgery, she asked to see Peyton Manning.
“You never know, he might just one day say, ‘well I’ll go walk the halls,'” Regis said while laughing. “That could have been the anesthesia talking.”
But UCHealth was able to set up a special meeting with Manning and Regis at the Broncos training facility. Manning gave her a big hug as well as tickets to her FIRST Broncos game!
Regis and her family will go to the Broncos home opener Sunday when Denver plays Seattle at 3:30 p.m.
