DOUGLAS COUNTY – Construction is now underway on a massive project to add a third lane to the section of I-25 between Monument and Castle Rock and CDOT wants to answer questions from commuters.

CDOT is hosting a telephone town hall meeting Thursday at 6:15 p.m. to educate commuters about expected traffic impacts from the project.

Those who are interested can call 1-877-229-8493, and enter the passcode 117409.

Drivers should expect two lanes of traffic to stay open during daylight hours and work will happen between 8 p.m. and 5:30 a.m. during the first stages of work on the project.

CDOT said by summer 2019 the entire 18 mile stretch of “the gap” will see active construction. The project is expected to be completely finished in 2022.

When the project is finished, the third lane will be a toll lane.
