HARTSEL – Park County authorities say the woman who suffered critical injuries when a hot air balloon had a “hard landing” in Park County died Friday night.

The woman who died has not yet been identified. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine her cause of death.

She was transported by Flight for Life to Penrose-St. Francis Hospital in Colorado Springs where she died Friday night.

One other person was injured, but that person’s condition and the extent of their injuries has not yet been released.

There were nine passengers on board and two pilots in the balloon and the flight began in the Hartsel area.

The NTSB and FAA are investigating what led up to the crash.
