Weather Closings and Delays for Tuesday, Jan. 22

SOUTHERN COLORADO – Blizzard conditions along the I-25 corridor and points south have caused several schools to delay classes for Tuesday, Jan. 22. Some highways are closed, roads are slick and blowing snow is making it difficult to clear them.

The following schools are either on a delay or closed:

  • Academy District 20: Closed
  • Banning Lewis Acad.: Closed
  • Big Sandy School District: Closed
  • Calhan RJ1: Closed
  • Cheyenne Mountain Dist. 12: Closed
  • CIVA Charter School: Closed
  • Colorado College: Open with normal business hours. Staff unable to report should contact supervisor.
  • Colorado School for the Deaf and Blind: Closed, No AM preschool
  • Colorado Springs Charter Acad.: Closed
  • Colorado Springs Christian Schools: Online Instruction Day. School closed.
  • Colorado Springs Conservatory: Closed
  • Colorado Springs Early Colleges: Closed
  • Colorado Springs School District 11: Closed
  • The Colorado Springs School: Closed
  • Colorado Technical University: 2 hours late. No classes until after 10 a.m.
  • Connect Charter School: Delayed start. 9:30 a.m. start time for students
  • Corpus Christi Catholic School: Closed
  • CPCD Head Start: Closed
  • Cripple Creek-Victor: Closed
  • Crowley Co. Schools: 2 Hours Late
  • CSU Pueblo: 2-hour delay
  • Divine Redeemer Catholic School: Closed
  • Early Connections Learning Centers: All locations now closed
  • Edison 54JT: Closed. No Career Start or College Bus
  • Elizabeth Sch. Dist. C-1: Closed
  • Ellicott District 22: Closed. No preschool.
  • Evangelical Christian Academy: Closed
  • Falcon District 49: Closed. Falcon High School will have an E-learning day.
    Springs Studio will be on a virtual schedule.
  • Family of Christ: Entire CDC closed no Child Care
  • First Presbyterian Church : No AM preschool

  • Hope Montessori Stetson: 2 Hours Late. Hope Stetson will open at 8:30 a.m.
  • Huerfano RE-1: 2 Hours Late, No AM preschool
  • IntelliTec College – CS Campus: Morning classes canceled. Employees report by 10 a.m.
  • International Salon and Spa Academy: Closed
  • James Irwin Charter Schools: Closed
  • Lake George Charter School: Closed
  • La Veta School District RE-2: Closed
  • Lewis-Palmer District 38: Closed
  • Manitou Springs District 14: Closed
  • The McClelland School: Closed
  • Miami-Yoder Sch. Dist. JT-60: Closed

  • UCCS:  Closed. All office hours, classes & activities are canceled.
  • The University School: Closed
  • The Vanguard School: Closed
  • Vista Grande Baptist Church: Closed
  • Widefield District 3: Closed
  • Woodland Park RE-2: Closed

Military Installations

  • Air Force Academy: USAFA is closed today due to poor weather conditions and road closures across Colorado Springs. Road conditions on base remain RED. Please contact your chain-of-command with any questions.
  • Cheyenne Mountain Air Force Base: DELAYED REPORTING is in effect for all non-essential personnel. Regardless of duty hours, personnel should report to their duty stations no earlier than 9:30 a.m. It is mandatory for non-essential personnel to comply with delayed reporting.
  • Fort Carson: Weather mission personnel only. Only Soldiers and civilians deemed mission essential will report.
  • Peterson Air Force Base: DELAYED REPORTING is in effect for 22 January 2019 for all non-essential personnel. Regardless of duty hours, personnel should report to their duty stations no earlier than 9:30 a.m. It is mandatory for non-essential personnel to comply with delayed reporting.
  • Schriever Air Force Base: Closed. Schriever AFB is closed today, 22 Jan. for both mission essential and non-mission essential personnel due to current weather conditions.

NOTE: We’ve updated this list to clarify that Peterson Air Force Base offices are not closed on Tuesday. The base announced this morning that offices will close Thursday due to a training exercise.

Businesses, organizations and churches

  • 4th Judicial District: Teller County Combined Courts is on a 2-hour delay. Jurors do not need to report.
  • Air Academy Federal Credit Union: Air Force Academy branch closed. All other locations are open
  • Care and Share Food Bank: 2-hour delay. Opens at 10 a.m.
  • Cherokee Metropolitan District: Closed
  • Children’s Colorado Urgent and Outpatient Specialty Care: Clinic opens at 12 p.m.
  • Church For All Nations: Closed
  • Colorado Department of Corrections: Headquarters office closed. Colorado Springs parole office is closed
  • Colorado Springs Housing Authority: offices will open at 10 a.m. for non-essential staff
  • Compassion International: Closed
  • El Paso County government offices: 2-hour delay. Commissioners meeting begins at 11 a.m.
  • Entrada School-Based Health Center: Closed
  • Every Home for Christ: 2 hours late
  • Falcon School-Based Health Center: Closed
  • First Presbyterian Church: No AM preschool. No morning Bible studies or programs.
  • First Southern Baptist Church – CS: Closed
  • Focus on the Family: Closed
  • Friendship Assembly of God: Closed
  • Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center: Closed
  • Mountain Springs Church: 2 Hours late
  • Nursing and Therapy Services of Colorado: 2 hours late
  • New Life Church: Opening at 10 a.m.
  • Nursing and Therapy Services of Colorado: 2 hours late
  • Outreach Inc.: Closed
  • Peak Vista Community Health Centers: 2 Hours Late. For Heath Center at Divide
  • The Pikes Peak Council Boy Scouts of America Office: Closed
  • Pikes Peak Library District: All PPLD Facilities are closed
  • Pikes Peak National Bank: Opening at 9 a.m.
  • The Colorado Springs Senior Center: Closed
  • Pueblo Cooperative Care Center: Closed
  • Pueblo County government: County buildings opening at 9 a.m.
  • Radiant Church: Opening at noon. Noon prayer at central campus still scheduled
  • Redemption Hill Chuch: Closed, no activities
  • Rock Family Church: Opening at 10 a.m. No morning small groups
  • Security Public Library: Closed

  • YMCA of the Pikes Peak Region: The Tri-Lakes YMCA will be closed until noon. The Colorado Springs Senior Center is closed.
