HELENA, MT – Over 8,000 people have signed a petition on change.org to sell the state of Montana to Canada for $1 trillion.
Created by Ian Hammond, the idea behind the petition is to help eliminate some of the national debt, which is at $22 trillion and growing.
The petition states, “We have too much debt and Montana is useless. Just tell them [Canada] it has beavers of something.”
The petition is trying to reach at least 10,000 online signatures.
