Weather closures and delays for Jan. 11, 2019

EL PASO COUNTY- Rain is changing over to snow across the area, creating slick spots for drivers on the north side of the News5 viewing area.

The most snow is forecasted for the Monument and Woodland Park areas as well as other spots in the higher elevations. More than 5 inches is forecast to fall throughout the day in those locations.

As of 7:17 a.m., a small number of districts and schools have made the decision to cancel classes on Friday.  The full list is included below

School closures:

Colorado Springs Christian Schools: Online Instruction Day. School Closed.

Hope Montessori Monument: Hope Montessori Academy in Monument will be closing at 1 p.m,

Monument Acad. Charter School: Closed

Lewis-Palmer District 38: Closed

Pikes Peak School of Expeditionary Learning: Afternoon and evening activities canceled

Woodland Park Re-2 – Closed


AspenPointe:  Woodland Park, Cripple Creek, Fairplay and Bailey offices are closed. All Colorado Springs locations remain on normal business hours.

Pikes Peak Library Dist.: Ute Pass and Palmer Lake Libraries are closed, and Monument Library will close at noon. All other facilities are open for regularly scheduled hours.
