COLORADO SPRINGS – Colorado Springs Utilities said a closure of SB Academy Boulevard is expected to last through Thursday night.
Academy Boulevard is closed between Village Road and Radiant Drive, which is just north of Academy and Maizeland.
One lane of Southbound traffic is being diverted into the northbound lanes, so delays are likely for both northbound and southbound travelers in the area.
If you want to avoid the traffic headaches, you can take Village Road and Carefree Circle to N. Murray Blvd. to Maizeland where you can rejoin Academy past the closure. You could also take Union or Powers to get north and south as well, depending on your location.
