Facebook and Instagram users worldwide are reporting issues logging into and loading the social media sites.
According to downdetector.com, widespread outages are being reported on the east coast of the U.S., in Europe and in southeast Asia.
The cause of the outage is not yet known at this time.
Meanwhile Twitter users are enjoying their exclusive status as being one of the only major social networking sites up and operating. Thousands of users in the U.S. are posting about it using #FacebookDown.
