EDGEWOOD – A five-year-old Colorado girl is recovering from a slew of injuries after being pinned under the wheel of an SUV earlier this week.
“We were going to…about to get out, and we got crashed,” said five-year-old Sarah.”
Sarah and her father were leaving a Target store in Edgewater when an oncoming vehicle hit both of them, throwing the father backward and trapping little Sarah.
“I was under the tire,” Sarah said in describing the incident.
The five-year-old received a broken collarbone, a punctured lung, and several cuts and bruises from the collision.
“It had looked like her eyes and everything was just like coming out of her face,” her father said.
The crash is still under investigation, but the family believes it is a case of distracted driving.
