Thursday’s game vs. El Paso cancelled for water logged field

Posted

Thursday evening’s scheduled 6:40 p.m. contest between the Colorado Springs Sky Sox and the El Paso Chihuahuas at Security Service Field has been cancelled due to heavy rain and wet grounds causing unsafe playing conditions. With Thursday being the final game of the only series against El Paso this season, the game has officially been determined as a “cancelled game” and will not be made up as the two teams will not meet again in 2018.

All tickets for the postponed game are considered rain checks and are good for any remaining 2018 regular season game excluding September 1 (Sky Fest). To exchange tickets, fans will need to present them at the Sky Sox ticket office.

The team continues into another series at Security Service Field beginning tomorrow, Friday, July 27 with a four-game set against the Albuquerque Isotopes, Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. First pitch tomorrow is scheduled for 6:40 p.m. and will feature a postgame fireworks show presented by CSU Pueblo while the Sky Sox players and staff will be wearing throwback Colorado Springs Sky Sox jerseys from the 1990’s with 10 of the game-worn autographed jerseys being auctioned off during the game.
