Colorado Springs Police say auto and motorcycle theft is rampant right now in the Springs, and one resident has visual proof.
A surveillance video (seen above), shows a man stealing a motorcycle right out of a driveway early Monday morning.
News 5 spoke with the owner of the bike who said, base on what he saw in the video, he didn’t think the the thief would get very far. Jim Klingensmith, the owner, said he went looking for the bike and found it a few blocks away, unharmed.
Klingensmith said he’s glad to get the bike back, but hopes someone recognizes the thief. "You know that somebody would not recognize him and it would all be for not," said Klingensmith. It’s still nice to know who it was, and what time they were, and exactly what happened."
Klingensmith said he still feels violated, even though the bike is back.
