Many military service members celebrated Armed Forces Day on Saturday- and for several veterans in Fountain, the celebration didn’t end on Sunday.

Every year, Brian Wess puts together an event allowing veterans to ride their motorcycles in the largest police escorted charity procession in the state.

The funds from the event go towards the El Paso County Homeless Veterans Coalition, to help veterans in programs in southern Colorado.

One program- even gives veterans transitional housing to get them back on their feet and into permanent housing.

‘Well it’s critical, back when I started doing this event there really wasn’t anything going on, most people weren’t really aware of armed forces weekend, let alone armed forces day,’ said Brian Wess, the event’s organizer.
