Colorado soldier killed in Afghanistan heads home

22-year-old Spc. Gabriel D. Conde died April 30th in the Tagab District of Afghanistan.

The Defense Department said the airborne infantryman was killed when he was hit by enemy small arms fire.

The Loveland, Colorado native is now heading home. In the above video, you can see the Dignified Transfer ceremony held at Dover Air Force Base Thursday morning.

Conde was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska. He enlisted in the Army in 2015 and deployed to Afghanistan in September of 2017.
