Monica has enjoyed working at KOAA-TV for 11 years joining the station as a morning show producer in 2008 following graduation from CSU-Ft. Collins with a degree in technical journalism.
Monica began her tenure as a web writer and morning show producer before advancing to produce the early evening newscasts for several years as well as having spent time filling in on the assignment desk and field producing special coverage and breaking news events including the Waldo Canyon and Black Forest fires and Planned Parenthood shooting.
Since early 2019, Monica has been promoted to Assistant News Director and still enjoys producing and writing on occasion, as well as working with the entire team to craft daily coverage.
Monica is a proud native of Pueblo and has lived across the state including in Ft. Collins, Colorado Springs and currently Monument. It's the love of home and state that drives her news career, knowing that our daily coverage impacts a huge part of the state and communities from border to border. She also considers it a great responsibility to share information and important stories with not just viewers but family and friends across Southern Colorado.
Monica enjoys spending her free time outside in the sunshine often at a high altitude, skiing in the winter, hiking and fishing in the summer months, usually with her two sons.
