Mike is the Lead Forecaster for KOAA News5 watching out for southern Colorado for more than 35 years. He has been on the air in southern Colorado longer than any other anchor in the market.
Born and raised in Pueblo, Mike has deep roots in the region. His popular Mike's Backyard BBQs, when he would broadcast the weather live and bring the food to a winning household, are still talked about by many in our area.
Mike's community experience also includes time on the board of directors for the Cross D Bar Recreation foundation, dedicated to providing the disabled and the elderly an opportunity to experience the fun and challenges of fishing and camping in Colorado.
The Colorado Broadcasters Association has recognized Mike's work numerous time with an Award of Excellence as the Best Weathercaster. He's always enjoyed the excitement and challenges of forecasting the ever-changing weather in Colorado.
When not working, Mike enjoys Colorado's outdoors by hiking, biking, and fishing in high mountain streams and beaver ponds.
