Isaac Ramirez

Assistant News Director

Isaac Ramirez is the Assistant News Director for KOAA News5 in Colorado Springs and Pueblo.

Isaac is a Texan with a heart for Colorado. After several trips to The Centennial State over the years, Isaac knew he wanted to call Colorado home at some point in his news career.

Isaac is the son of immigrants and was raised on a ranch in the Piney Woods of East Texas. He values the work of ranchers and farmers and their role in keeping America fed.

Before coming to KOAA, Isaac worked as a: morning anchor, executive producer and assistant news director at KETK and FOX 51 in his hometown.

During his time in Texas, Isaac covered tornado outbreaks, the border crisis, and was Emmy-nominated for coverage of the deadly 2021 winter storm that crippled the Lone Star State.

Some of Isaac's favorite stories included telling the story of 'POPWATCH,' a man in his 80's who became an online viral sensation amassing millions of followers overnight. He also enjoyed recognizing a diiferent group of first responders on live television every week.

Isaac is a proud graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University. He has a passion for helping children, becoming President of the Board of Young Audiences of Northeast Texas in their mission to enrich education through the arts.

On the weekends, Isaac likes to relax by fishing, going on long walks with his dogs, or watching NFL and NASCAR.

What does Isaac like best about Colorado? Most people might say the scenery, but he believes the people are what is most beautiful about the Centennial State.
