A California man has been ordered to stand trial on felony charges he intentionally killed a police dog last year after a dramatic police chase.
Cory Bryon, 27, of Vista, California leaped from a highway overpass with the dog in his arms after leading police on a high-speed chase.
In court Thursday, prosecutors showed video of the police dog chasing Bryon, then both going over the side of the bridge and falling 200 feet. Amazingly, Bryon survived the fall, but the police dog did not.
Bryon now faces charges of harming a police dog and driving under the influence.
