Usually an amazing story about fishing is about the huge catch, but this one is about the pole!
A North Carolina girl caught a record sized channel catfish with her Barbie fishing pole!
David Hayes was fishing with Alyssa when she had to take a bathroom break.
David held her pink Barbie rod while she was gone, and quickly snagged the 21-pounder in Wilkes County earlier this month.
The fish, which measured 32” long was longer than the pole!
The state has already certified the record.
Alyssa got the Barbie fishing gear from her father for Christmas.
