A 250 pound black bear stayed in a tree in a Pueblo County neighborhood for 12 hours.  It had to be tranquilized by the Division of Wildlife officers who caught him in a trampoline.

Around 10:45 Sunday night, a 250 pound black bear showed up in front of a home in the Salt Creek area near Blende. He then climbed a tree and stayed there for nearly twelve hours.

The Division of Wildlife tranquilized the bear. The Sheriff's Office and Pueblo Police helped to catch him in a trampoline.

Leslie Sandoval caught it all on tape. She says, "You don't expect to have bears in your neighborhood. Then when you do see a bear, you think it's going to be wild. And you worry about the kids. But we had our grandkids going to school and everything. And he just stayed up in the tree."

The Division of Wildlife will tag the bear and release him back into the wild. Officers say they think he followed the Fountain River to find food and the scent from dumpsters attracted him to the neighborhood.
