COLORADO SPRINGS - City employees can carry concealed firearms with them to work under a new measure approved by Colorado Springs City Council Tuesday.

Mayor Steve Bach called on council to amend their policy after it was determined that elected officials and members of the public were allowed to carry concealed guns in the same buildings where workers couldn't.

The issued passed on a 7-2 vote with Council President Scott Hente and President Pro Temp Jan Martin voting against the measure.

COLORADO SPRINGS - Ahead of an anticipated drought, Colorado Springs City Council unanimously approved a new four stage water restriction system for Colorado Springs Utilities customers. The new system will take affect April 1 and Council will have to decide to increase the restrictions from stage to stage depending on the severity of the water shortage.

Stage 1 is slightly below average and simply requires increased monitoring of water levels by Colorado Springs Utilities.

Stage 2 prohibits daytime outdoor watering between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. from May until October.

Stage 3 restrictions limit outdoor watering to one day per week.

Stage 4 restrictions limit outoor watering to 1 day per month.
