On Sunday afternoon St. Dominic's Catholic Church in Security, CO opened its doors to hold an event for youth for them to be able to make a public pledge to chastity.
Their pledge means that they will save themselves for marriage before engaging in sexual behavior.
The event is held in October, which is in line with the Respect for Life Month for the Catholic Church.
Miss Teen Pueblo and nationally known speaker and author on chastity, Jason Evert, spoke at the function as to why others should be inspired to take the pledge.
St. Dominic's has been hosting the pledge event annually since 1997. Anyone who wishes to take the pledge is welcome and can do so by scheduling an appointment at the church. Additionally, on Valentine's Day, one can take a virtual pledge by clicking here.
