There are new accusations against a Pueblo landlord who's been at the center of controversy. Back in February News 5 first brought you the story of Joshua Sutton, a landlord accused of turning off the power and locking his tenants out. A judge later ruled he didn't give his renters a proper eviction notice. A total of 17-people were left homeless.
Now another family claims they were recently victimized by Sutton. A couple who wanted to remain anonymous says they paid Sutton $800 for rent and utilities for two months, but they say the power was turned off after 30-days. "Just very depressing. It's getting to be Christmas and instead of buying presents I have to find a new place to live," said the tenant.
The Pueblo Zoning Department says it couldn't find any records as to why the house was posted as unsafe, but assured us they would investigate.
Meanwhile, Sutton is in jail on unrelated charges. He's facing two counts of felony assault, including on a peace officer.
