About 100 volunteers got their hands dirty Saturday afternoon at the Flying W Ranch. Many trees were lost during the Waldo Canyon Fire and the ones that are standing are charred, causing major erosion problems. Girl Scout Raises Money to Donate Trees to Fire Victims

A 14-year-old Girl Scout is raising money to help Waldo Canyon Fire victims. KC Cruz is fundraising to buy 400 Blue Spruce Trees from the U.S. Forest Service to give to families who lost their home in the fire. She is calling her idea, "Trees of Hope." Cruz said... more » -
Colorado Springs to receive grant money after tough tourism season

Four arrested for stealing metal in the Waldo Canyon burn area

Four people have been arrested after neighbors reported someone stealing metal from homes destroyed by the Waldo Canyon wildfire. Police patrolling the area stopped a vehicle as it was leaving on Sunday. They arrested Selina Blair, Liza Mcfadden-Rhane, Marshall Brooks, and Tero Rhane for suspicion of trespassing and theft. DENVER (AP) - Colorado Attorney General John Suthers is warning about scam artists preying on wildfire victims and on people trying to donate to relief funds.
