Rock removal continues on Highway 50 west of Cotopaxi to remove rubble from a rock slide that happened Monday. Crews worked until sundown yesterday and all morning trying to break the larger boulders into smaller pieces so they can be hauled away. Workers are using drills and blasting... more » -

After rock slides partially closed US Highway 24 twice in successive weeks, damaging some vehicles but causing no injuries, the Colorado Department of Transportation is taking the unusual step of closing the highway to remove rocks.
