Arapahoe Basin Ski area announced today it plans to open for the season Wednesday. According to the resort's blog, they started making snow October 5th and plan to open their High Noon intermediate run to skiers Wednesday. A-Basin also plans to have a few terrain park features ready.... more » -

Monarch, Durango now open!

DENVER (AP) - Two more Colorado ski resorts are opening for the season. Durango Mountain Resort and Monarch Mountain were set to welcome skiers and snowboarders on Friday. Zipper lane would cut I-70 trips in half

Adding an extra, temporary eastbound lane to Interstate 70 would cut travel time from ski resorts to Denver by about half. Silverton, Echo Mountain open for the season

Two more Colorado ski areas are opening for the season. Silverton Mountain in southwestern Colorado and Echo Mountain west of Denver are opening terrain on Wednesday. Echo is offering $29 lift tickets through Dec. 18 while Silverton has $39 tickets. Silverton is also changing its operating schedule and says it... more » -

Trial under way in lawsuit over rented ski passes

Jury selection is under way in a trial over whether the owners of lifetime ski passes at Colorado's Keystone resort can rent them out to others. Early investors in the resort were granted lifetime passes, and some of those pass holders make extra cash by renting them. Vail Resorts Inc.... more »
