    Arapahoe Basin Ski area announced today it plans to open for the season Wednesday. According to the resort's blog, they started making snow October 5th and plan to open their High Noon intermediate run to skiers Wednesday. A-Basin also plans to have a few terrain park features ready.... more »

    DENVER (AP) - Two more Colorado ski resorts are opening for the season. Durango Mountain Resort and Monarch Mountain were set to welcome skiers and snowboarders on Friday.     Two more Colorado ski areas are opening for the season. Silverton Mountain in southwestern Colorado and Echo Mountain west of Denver are opening terrain on Wednesday.     Jury selection is under way in a trial over whether the owners of lifetime ski passes at Colorado's Keystone resort can rent them out to others.
