Two rare minnows are once again swimming in the Arkansas River thanks to pioneering research efforts at the John Mumma Native Aquatic Species Restoration Facility. Business is heating up in Colorado's mountains as the temperatures keep rising at the lower elevations. Residents in the southern Plains are bracing for more storms two days after a deadly tornado outbreak. Survey suggests rural economy remains weak

For a fourth straight month, signs from a survey of rural bankers that includes Colorado suggest that economic recovery is inching along in 11 Midwest and Plains states.
