Firefighters continue work on blaze north of Nucla

Firefighters in southwest Colorado are still battling a lightning-sparked blaze that's threatening three cabins and an outbuilding. Fire officials say the nearly 2-square-mile wildfire had only moderate burning Monday with weaker than expected winds. 3 cabins threatened by western Colorado wildfire

Crews fighting a 1½-square-mile wildfire in western Colorado are also putting out 17 smaller fires sparked by lightning. Fire information officer Lee Ann Loupe says a Sunday night storm sparked the new fires while crews were keeping the large fire away from three cabins and an outbuilding about 10 miles... more »
